"Where
are all the good men gone?" You may have heard a woman ask?
To answer
this is actually very simple. Men are built, physically to out perform women in
every career or profession. Not because they are necessarily mentally more
adept, women are actually on average smarter, but for one simple reason: women
are built to carry children in the womb, which takes time, resources, and an
emotional toll. This also stops a woman from being able to work without taking considerable
breaks, while she is giving birth. Men are created for the work force, women
are created for nurturing in the home, especially while their children are
young.
To eliminate
this advantage of men, women needed to be artificially altered via birth
control, or access to abortion. This allows women, to some degree, to deny
their biology and suppress their inbuilt mothering instincts to compete with
men in various professions creating the illusion of equality in some fields.
Because of woman's higher average intelligence[i]
and better ability at dealing with groups of people, they'll even surpass men
in certain fields, for a time. Though many will eventually give this up to have
a family. This whole cycle has terrible effects on women, but I will talk about
that another time.
What I want
to address is how this has very bad effects on men. Birth control and the pill
help women feel more sexually free, hence men get greater access to sexual
partners without having to commit, build a home and raise children. Men need a
load, they need responsibility to flourish, it is how we were created, to work
and provide, men are often lost without this responsibility. The fact that when
they have sex this is supposed to create a child is supposed to motivate men,
and the society around them, to force them to aim up and not be boys anymore.
Easy access
to sex ruins men. Denial of biological reality harms women. You end up with a
society like ours where women ask, "Where are all the good men gone?"
Someone may
object, “But Matt, most men get very little access to women, and some men get
much more access to women.” This is a direct result of the deregulation of the
sexual marketplace caused by easy access to sex. In such a deregulated market
there will always be winners and losers, and some men will lose out badly.
Other will win badly, but this will corrupt their and their expectations of
women. So, this result does not disprove my thesis, it backs it up. The fact
that most men cannot be assured that they will find a faithful and dedicated
wife and sexual partner for life, is part of this larger issue. It is a flow on
effect.
Some men
will overcome this, and will become good men, who take a wife and live
righteously. But as humans are driven by incentives, the less incentive there
is to be good, the less men will be good. And society will decline till it hits
a cliff.
Many aspects
of our modern society need to be rejected to return to more balance between men
and women. Men as providers and women as nurturers. As long as men have an easy
out, many won't bother to be good, and many will be corrupted by the situation.
