We live in a fascinating world.
Have you read any books on WW2? If you have, like me, I
bet you were reading and sometimes thinking, "Don't do that, you don't
need to do that!" Or, "If that leader had just not done that one
thing, the war never would have happened that way." You sit there thinking
how stupid the leaders were to get the world into that situation and how
unavoidable it all was except for their pride, wickedness and foolishness and
the terrible ideologies that drove them. And you think, "How could it
happen?"
That's why it is even more surreal to see the leaders of
the world heating up WW3 right now, like they are all on a righteous crusade,
when at every point one of them could have done something to de-escalate this
stupid series of wars, but their pride, wickedness and foolishness is on par
with the leaders who got us into this last time, and bad ideologies are just as
much to blame.
I pray regularly that Australia is kept out of this
building war. The last world war went for long enough that 12 and 13 years in
1939 were dying on the battlefield in 1944-1945 as 17, 18 and 19 year olds. Old
men advocate for wars, then start wars, and then send the kids of other men to
die in their wars. May God judge such men, and may he keep us from having
leaders like that in our country.
Thank God this war is far away, may it stay that way.
