The more I observe what is going on in Israel, Gaza, and the wider Middle East, the more it looks like this was initiated as a trap for US forces by a collection of its enemies, or competitors. Unfortunately, because of bad leadership in the West, the US has become very predictable, and its enemies know this better than many of us.
The US is at war in Ukraine. It supplies weapons,
consultants for war, special forces training, other military training, money and other
equipment to the Ukrainian leadership so that they will fight the Russians on
their behalf. But the US stops short of openly marching in battalions of men to line
up against the Russians openly. But still its military and economic resources
are being severely drained. In Asia the US is becoming increasingly anxious
about China moving on Taiwan, though if China did it would be simply a response
to the US seeking to goad it into conflict there. This is something I don't think China
will do just yet, though they may surprise us.
But where is the one place in the world you can almost
guarantee to get the United States bogged down into a manpower and economy
draining conflict? The Middle East. The United States has considered itself to
be the primary power in the Middle East since at least the 1990's, maybe even
earlier. And with the Neocons in charge of both the United States and Israel, a
group of idealogues who are quick to go to war and hunger for it so that they
can crush their enemies, how could all of the growing list of enemies of the
United States not see this as an opportunity to draw the US into a final war
that breaks its hold on the world?
Of course, this perspective is based on the view that we
are already in WW3, and this is just the early stages, but that it is heating up.
Many in the West don't yet consider this to be the case, but already a
coalition of western powers is at war with a coalition of non-western forces on
multiple fronts. And when you factor in the economic war that is currently
raging with BRICS, then it very much is a global war. Also, if you had read Unrestricted
Warfare, you would see why it is hard not to believe at the very least that
China is behind a lot of these moves that are causing the United States to self-immolate
before the world’s eyes. The very strategy they outline for weakening the US
appears to be in play.
US
forces are right now racing to the Middle East to prepare to defend Israel
from Iran. This adds to their already considerable presence in the region, a
region where their failures far outweigh their successes. Is this the battle
that will end the US empire? We have interesting times ahead. Pray our nation
is smart enough to stay out of it.
As to the United States, what
is the perspective of their leadership?
"Scott Pelley: Are the
wars in Israel and Ukraine more than the United States can take on at the same
time?
President Biden: No. We're
the United States of America for God's sake, the most powerful nation in the
history-- not in the world, in the history of the world. The history of
the world. We can take care of both of these and still maintain our overall
international defense."[1]
I see nothing from much of the United States elites that
is any different to this foolish sentiment. Perhaps they should be reminded of the message
of this poem:
Ozymandias
Percy Bysshe Shelley
1792 –1822
"I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: “Two vast and trunkless legs of
stone
Stand in the desert . . . Near them, on the
sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose
frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions
read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless
things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that
fed:
And on the pedestal these words appear:
‘My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!’
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.”
Every world empire has thought of itself as invincible, until it wasn’t. The United States is heading for a disaster, it might come very soon.
